Elmer Fudd walks out of a typical Bugs cartoon, so Bugs gets back at him by disturbing Elmer’s sleep using “nightmare paint.”

The circuit judge lion delegates the job of trying the notorious bank bandit, Fowler Means, to Snagglepuss. Snag holds court in Loophole Mesa, a frontier town. After the prosecutor comes down with a case of lead poisoning -- from the bandit's bullet -- Snagglepuss has to take over his job.

A poor cobbler’s son enters a $25,000 cross-country hiking contest sponsored by the footwear company that has nearly bankrupted his father. He also has fallen in love with the girl on the company’s billboards, the competition’s daughter, and her sweet inspiration keeps him tramping along.

The car won’t work and the boys are apparently out a bundle. A car collector happens on the scene and offers to buy it at a premium. The “collector” is an escaped lunatic.
