Welcome back I'm Sheri Silas and we're here to talk about food chain In our previous talk we

explored the basics of coaching and its significance for managers Today we'll dive deeper into one

foundational aspect of coaching Self-awareness Self-awareness is the cornerstone of effective coaching and it plays

a crucial role in your journey As a manager coach let's uncover why self-awareness matters and

how it enhances your leadership abilities Self-awareness involves having a clear understanding of your own thoughts your emotions

your strengths and areas for development When you are self-aware you're attuned to your own biases

triggers and behaviors that can impact your interactions with other people This awareness allows you to consciously make choices and

make sure that those choices align with your values and that they positively influence your

coaching relationships by cultivating self-awareness You can better manage your own emotions You can recognize patterns in your communication

style and you can adapt your approach to meet the needs of your employees It creates a solid foundation for

building trust and rapport in your employee relationships So how can you develop self awareness as a manager

That's the big question And here are a few tips It starts with introspection and reflection Take the

time to explore your values explore your beliefs and the impact of your behaviors on other people

Seek feedback from colleagues and mentors and even from your team members their insights can provide

valuable feedback valuable perspectives and help you identify blind spots that could be hindering you from

being effective mindfulness practice is can also be beneficial in developing self-awareness engage in activities that cultivate self reflection such

as journaling meditation or simply by pausing to observe and acknowledge your thoughts and your

emotions in the present moment As you enhance your self awareness you will become naturally more present

and more attuned to your employees needs This heightened level of awareness allows you to ask more powerful questions

and to offer insights that can lead to profound discoveries and growth through your team

members Remember self-awareness is an ongoing journey and there will always be opportunities for further self reflection and work em

embrace this process as a manager coach and you will see remarkable improvements not only in
