Let's get ready to get into the word this morning We're going to continue our study about spiritual renewal We're

going to continue to talk about the word because there's no separation of life and spiritual renewal

outside of the word The word has the answers to all of our problems all of our situations

We have to understand the word not so we can have a head full of knowledge and

walk around quoting scripture but knowing the Word intimately so we can trust the Word

to apply it to our life And then when we apply the word to our life

then we'll see the benefits of the word See the benefits of the word don't

come by just knowing it The benefits of the word come by putting it into action trusting God

in His word for your life Then and only then will you see God's hand move Today

we're going to talk about how the word is eternal it's everlasting because we live in a world where

people's words are easily spoken and their words are easily broken Promises are made but

they're never kept They never come to pass However in the midst of all these broken words the broken

promises the word of God never fails because the word of God is eternal God's word is not subject to

time or our human failures What God has spoken stands forever and it is unchangeable So that's what

I want to talk about today the unchangeable eternal word of God The first thing I

want to share is that the word of God is established and is eternal Psalm 119:89 this is what it

says Your word O Lord is eternal It stands firm in the heavens God's word is eternal It's everlasting

It was in the beginning and it will be to the end It's everlasting And knows what Thomas said

He says Your word Lord He acknowledges that the word originates from God not from the

mind of man No man no human being has the mental capacity to come up with

concepts that are eternal Only God can do that because man's concepts about life and things are temporary

because they're not based on God They're not based on His word But the psalmist says your

word O Lord is eternal It stands firm in the heavens God's word is not just a temporary

message for certain generation at some point in time and it becomes antiquated now in

this present day Some people they acknowledge that oh yeah God said it but he said it

to people way back then If things change and we have evolved now and our understanding of

things is greater No God's word is eternal It's not a temporary message for just one

generation at a specific time It's everlasting and it's established in the heavens God's word

is everlasting and it is established It is eternal His word is settled and it's

final God is unchangeable and His word is unchangeable and His word is true from beginning to the end John

chapter 1 verse 1 says In the beginning was the Word As soon as you open the

Bible bam there's the word and we see the word in action In the beginning was the Word and the

Word was with God and the Word was God The eternal Word was in the beginning

and it's everlasting It doesn't change Psalm 33:11 says the council the divine plans and purpose

of the Lord stands forever It is perfect and eternal The purposes of His heart to

all generations offering hope and assurance to all who trust in Him Not only is God's word eternal

but God's word is perfect and it stands forever God has revealed His purposes His heart to all

generations God's plans and purposes are not just limited to a specific time or to a specific

group of people But his plans his goodness his mercy his grace extends throughout generations offering hope

and assurance to all those who believe in him to all those who put their trust and

faith in him God is not trying to keep anything from anybody God has already revealed

the past tense himself to us He's already given us his plans that gives us hope and assurance in troubled

times He's already done that Are you seeking that Are you searching for that Is God

your source Are you looking to the word for the answers Or you're trying to find hope

and assurance outside the word because I guarantee you outside the word there is no hope there is no assurance

only false promises and false hope The word guarantees our hope and assurance because His word is

perfect and His word is eternal Hebrews chapter 13 verse 8 says Jesus Christ who is the

living word is the same yesterday today and forever meaning that the consistency of Jesus' character

who he is what he said what he did and his promises assure us of his

faithfulness in every situation and in every circumstance that we may encounter He's the same yesterday today

and forever He doesn't change And because God's word is eternal we can place our absolute trust in it

What God declared before time what God declared in the past is still true and beneficial to

our lives today because the word of God is established and the Word of God is eternal The Second point

I want to share with you this morning is that the word of God is

everlasting Isaiah chapter 40 verse 8 says the grass withers and the flowers fail but the word of God

endures forever And what we need to know and understand about this verse is that physical things material

things of this life are temporary and they're brief They're not everlasting They will eventually

pass away and are soon forgotten but the word of God remains unchanged and endures forever It's permanent it's

not temporary The things of this life are temporary They're going to pass away They're not

designed to last forever But these are the things that we're focusing on We're focusing

on things that are temporary We're focusing on the material and we're focusing on the physical These

things are temporary but the word of God which is spiritual is eternal and everlasting

So where should our focus be 2 Corinthians chapter 418 tells us so we fix our eyes not on

what is seen but on what is unseen for what is seen is temporary is brief is fleeting

but what is unseen is spiritual is everlasting So where should our focus be Our focus should

be on the things that are eternal the things that are everlasting the things that are spiritual and these things

come from the word This is what we have to fix our eyes on This is what we

have to stay our thinking on We have to fix our mind on Jesus who is the author

and the finisher of our faith That's where we should be not on temporary things that are

fleeting that are brief We make these things that are temporary in our mind we make them

permanent but they should be temporary if we got our eyes fixed on what's eternal and that's

Jesus Christ So we got to be able to see past these temporary things of

life because they will pass hurt will pass sorrow will pass These things are fleeting

they're brief they're temporary they're going to pass but the word of God is eternal and is

everlasting It's in the word that we find our stability in life our anchor in life trusting in His

word his promises regardless of what is happening in the physical realm things that we see

The word is an anchor and once you're anchored once you're fixed it doesn't matter what happens in

life it doesn't matter what happens in this world we have an anchor that stables us and

keeps us grounded and rooted in the truth of God's word God's word is everlasting It doesn't change

It remains forever The third thing I want to share with you this morning is that the word

not only is it everlasting it's unbreakable Matthew chapter 5 verse 18 says For truly I tell

you until heaven and earth disappears not the smallest letter nor the least stroke of a pen will

by any means disappear from the law until everything is accomplished Meaning that God is

going to confirm God is going to accomplish even the smallest details of the word

even the smallest details of his promises can never ever fail Jesus affirmed the absolute reliability of the

scriptures This is how much attention God has given his word that every letter every stroke of the pen That

he authorized that he spoke is going to come to pass His promise can never fail So the

word of God is unbreakable It's not changing It's not going nowhere God's word is true God's word is

intentional God's word is complete You don't need to add nothing to God's word It's true

It's intentional It's complete And Jesus is saying every promise every prophecy that has ever been

spoken will be fulfilled in its appointed time That's what you and I got to understand how the word works

The word doesn't work when you want it to work God is going to fulfill everything he said in

its appointed time We have to understand that everything that God said in the word will be fulfilled

at his appointed time and listen let me give somebody some peace this morning It's going to happen in this

time not your time So ain't no need you worrying ain't no need you pacing the floor That's not going

to move God one iota You have to trust in his perfect timing Romans chapter 8 verse 28 for

we know that God is working all things together for the good for those who love Him who's

called according to His purpose We know that we believe that we put our trust

and faith in that But when is he going to do it How he's going

to do it He's going to do it in his appointed time God has a

time and a season for everything What we have to do we have to keep trusting

the word of God even though we don't see the physical outcome Let me just

read that in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 18 We fix our eyes not on what is seen but what

is unseen The promises of God that He's going to fulfill in his appointed time This

is what Joshua said in Joshua 21:45 Not one of all the Lord's good promises to Israel failed

Everyone was fulfilled but it was fulfilled in his appointed time God made a promise to Moses God

made a promise to Joshua that Israel will inherit the promised land Did it happen

Did he do it He sure did in his appointed time And look at everything they

had to go through First of all be released from bondage from Israel They wandered 40 years through

the desert stumbling and fumbling around because they weren't obedient to where God was leading them and God

still fulfilled the promise He gave them the promised land but when did he do it

When they wanted it No at its appointed time Now I just shared with you God doesn't change

God's not going to make an exception for you He's not going to make an exception for me

That's what faith is all about believing God's word even though we don't see the results when we want

to see them and we can trust God in His word because Numbers 23:19 says that God is not a

man that He should lie Does he speak and not act Does he promise and not fulfill God says

what he means and he means what he said If God spoke it it will surely

come to pass If God spoke it Now this is what we need to know and understand and confirm right

here because we're hearing a lot of things on the TV on social media at churches we're hearing

a lot of things The scripture says God is not a man and he should lie but

what you and I got to know and understand is this what God said Because many believers have

been hoodwinked bamboozled let's say run them up because we've taken the word of a man and

we believe the word of a man about what God said What we need to do is confirm

that what they say is from God and how you do that you go back and confirm it in

the word instead of just accepting it as be truth just because somebody said it with a

name or title or they're popular That's how the adversary the devil is moving in these last days

He's popular famous preachers to hoodwink and bamboozle people because he knows that people are more inclined

to follow a human being that's charismatic than to be disciplined to study the word

on their own But you and I have to confirm that God said it because if God said it

it will surely certainly come to pass But watch this If God didn't say it it ain't

happening And a lot of people are building their faith on false promises because what they're

building their faith on is not being confirmed by the word We need to know that we know that we

know is God because if it's God it's certainly going to come to pass And

God told us this in Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth

It will not return to me empty useless without results That's what you and I need to know and

confirm Is it God's word What I'm hearing right now is it God's word I see

people hollering and shouting and running and dancing but is it God's word or is that their

emotions Why are they so hyped Is this promise real or is this something that appeals to the

flesh See we got to start asking more questions in 2026 Because the only thing that's going

to stand the only thing that's eternal is what God said A lot of people running dancing

shouting flipping but then the promise never comes to pass They've been lied to hoodwinked they've stood

in $100 lines $1000 lines and gave money that the Bible never tells us to do

that but they believed the preacher and they followed the instruction of the preacher gave all that money

and no result You know why Because that didn't come from God's mouth That didn't come from

God's word It returned back to you empty useless and without result because you put your faith

and trust in something that was not even God But you believed it because that's what a man said some

fake prophet said Listen time is too short We can't afford to be going through this roller coaster

up and down up and down That's not the will of God for your life

God wants you to be on solid ground and you're on solid ground when you're being led

by the Spirit and you're following His word And then when you do that all of

the promises of God will surely come to pass in his appointed time Our faith

must always be in the unchanging unbreakable word of God not in what man says or what our

circumstances dictate or our emotions God's word is greater than your circumstances God's word is greater than your emotions God's

word will not return back to him empty because his word is unchangeable and is unbreakable Number 4

and this is the most important thing about God's word is that His word brings

salvation First Peter chapter 1 verse 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever and this

is the word that was preached to you Because the word of the Lord endures forever and

His word is true The word that is proclaimed is designed to bring forth salvation

Through the gospel God's word brings salvation His word brings transformation and a new life Salvation is grounded in the

eternal word That's why the gospel message will never lose its power Whatever you hear should be

drawing you closer to Christ If you're a heathen it should be leading you to salvation If you're one

of them slippy sliding CME Christians Christmas Mother's Day Easter Christians the word of God should be bringing you back

to a right relationship with Jesus Christ Because the word of God is eternal and it's designed

to bring forth salvation transformation and a new life in those who believe it That's

why the gospel message of Jesus Christ death burial and resurrection will never lose its power Romans chapter 10 verse

the word about Christ If you study the context of Romans chapter 10 it's about salvation Faith for

salvation comes from hearing the message of salvation Salvation can't come through a message about prosperity and best life now

Salvation can only come from the message of salvation which is about Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior who

died on the cross for us That's the message that people need to hear That's the message of faith

James chapter 1 verse 18 says He Christ chose to give us birth salvation through the

word of truth So you can't separate the eternal word from salvation because it's the

eternal word that has the message about Jesus Christ We talked about it Jesus Christ is the word from

the beginning to the end When he says I'm the alpha and the Omega he wasn't talking about a

fraternity I'm the beginning I'm the end the eternal word and this eternal word was designed to bring lost man

back to God Everything was perfect in the garden until sin entered in And in Genesis

the Gospels the New Testament even Revelation is all about Jesus Christ and reconciling man back to

God The eternal word is designed to bring forth salvation and to give us a new life John chapter

that I've spoken to you they are spirit and they are life Listen you have no life outside

of the Holy Spirit All creation has spirit life or else they wouldn't be living So we're not talking

about the spirit that was given at birth The life of the spirit in John 6:63 is the

spirit that gives eternal life and Jesus said the Spirit gives life the flesh profits nothing So the word

of God is spirit that gives eternal life The word of God is not just

informative but it's transformative because it carries the power of the spirit of God His word is

living It's active and is full of life-giving power and it offers salvation eternal life

to those who believe That's the power of the eternal word That's the power of the word that lasts

forever That's the power of the word that's unchangeable That's the power of the Word that can save when it's

received in faith It produces eternal life So let me leave you with this this morning The word

of God never fails because it's eternal it's everlasting it's unchanging it's unbreakable It's full of power to save completely

once and forever It uncertain times like we live in today We must always turn to what God has spoken

what God has promised in His word Then we have to stand on it Then

we have to put our trust and faith in His word in His promises and you

do that by obeying what the word says and we have to also proclaim this eternal word to

others Heaven and earth may pass away but the word of our God will stand forever

because the word is eternal Amen
