Edgar Kennedy - Westward Ho-Hum (1941)
Edgar and family go to a western ghost town.
Sadie Martin owns a riverboat that is frequently used by miners traveling to their claims. During their trip, the miners drink and gamble. Sadie's daughter, Helen, is unaware of her mother's work because her mother sends her to boarding school in order to live a lifestyle more attributed to the upper-class. Unfortunately for Sadie, she is facing difficulty maintaining the costly riverboat. She is soon forced to sell the boat in order to make ends meet.
More trouble from Badman, especially when Curly Joe says the word 'good'!
When Jerry and Sherman are producing their boy scout talent show, they ask Lucy to get her 'old friend' Ethel Merman to headline. Merman is in town under an assumed name so Lucy unwittingly recruits her to pass herself off as the Broadway star, with just an hour of voice lessons from Lucy.
