(1938) An aging actor, trying to make a comeback on Broadway, is surprised when his estranged daughter shows up. She is an actress and is trying to make it on Broadway. He tries to re-establish his relationship with her while also trying to hide the fact that she is his daughter from the press.

This is the story of a young owl who wants to sing jazz, instead of the classical music that his German parents wish him to perform. The plot is a lighthearted tribute to Al Jolson’s film The Jazz Singer.
