A Song to Remember (1945)

Prof. Joseph Elsner guides his protégé Frydryk Chopin through his formative years to early adulthood in Poland. The professor takes him to Paris, where he eventually comes under the wing and influence of novelist George Sand (Merle Oberon).

A reworking of Hansel and Gretel. As in the classic tale, there is a witch and a gingerbread house, with the witches motive the same. It is Curly Joe who is thrown into the oven.
When Viv's nervous cousin can't perform in his debut with the Manhattan Symphony, Lucy takes his place.
While listening to a recording of Penny Serenade, Julie Gardiner Adams (Irene Dunne) begins reflecting on her past. She recalls her impulsive marriage to newspaper reporter Roger Adams (Cary Grant), which begins on a deliriously happy note but turns out to be fraught with tragedy.
