Hello everyone and welcome back to coaching for managers I'm Shirley Silas In our previous talk we

discussed the role of self-awareness in coaching Today we'll explore another competency building rapport and trust Building Rapport is the

foundation of any successful coaching relationship It involves establishing a connection and creating an environment of

trust respect and empathy When there's rapport between a manager and their team members it paves the

way for open communication collaboration and ultimately for transformative coaching experiences So how can you foster

rapport and trust as a manager coach Well it begins with active listening and with genuine curiosity When you

show sincere interest in your employees' perspectives their thoughts their feelings it makes them feel heard and valued

use open-ended questions to encourage dialogue and to ensure understanding nonverbal communication also plays a vital role in building

rapport Pay attention to your body language your facial expressions your tone of voice and maintain eye contact use positive

gestures and display empathy through your attentiveness and your responsiveness Trust is the key ingredient in coaching relationships It's earned

through consistent actions transparency and integrity As a manager coach it's essential to establish trust

by following through on commitments maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating fairness and honesty creating a psychologically

safe environment is paramount encourage your team members to share thoughts and ideas and concerns without fear of

judgment or repercussions And follow up by not judging celebrate their successes and provide constructive feedback to foster

growth When you establish rapport and trust in your coaching relationships you'll witness increased engagement and collaboration and you'll see

team members begin to embrace new challenges and opportunities It really does set the stage for
