Afrikan Traditional Medicine Day

When are we actually going to stop complaining and talking about change and start to make change happen? Our answer is, NOW. The little things we do as part of the bigger push for change are what make change happen. Extraordinary people are not always known for the ordinary things they do, but for the extra they put into making ordinary things amazing. So, instead of being those who sit and wail over spilled milk, we can be those who start to raise new breeds of cows. We all have what we can contribute to the world that we wish to see, and we all can do something...even if it seems little.

Globally, several Indigenous communities are being displaced from their lands to make way for carbon capture and forest conservation projects. These initiatives, often presented as climate solutions, have led to land grabs and violations of Indigenous rights in various regions.
Here are some indigenous peoples across the globe going through various forms of evictions:
- San (Bushmen) of Botswana
- Baka Pygmies of Cameroon
- Endorois of Kenya
- Herero and Nama of Namibia
- Guarani-Kaiowá of Brazil
- Mapuche of Chile and Argentina
- Yanomami of Brazil and Venezuela
- Adivasi (Scheduled Tribes) of India
- Papuan Indigenous People of Indonesia
- Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Indigenous People of Bangladesh
- Standing Rock Sioux (Dakota Access Pipeline) - United States
*Wet’suwet’en First Nation - Canada
*Maasai of Tanzania,
- Ogiek of Kenya,
- Batwa of Uganda,
- Kanak People of New Caledonia,
- Aboriginal Australians
We must do something to stop this illegal acts of oppression.
