Dog Day Afternoon (1972)
Based on a true story, Sonny and Sal attempt a bank heist which quickly turns sour and escalates into a hostage situation and stand-off with the police. As Sonny’s motives for the robbery are slowly revealed and things become more complicated, the heist turns into a media circus.
Lydia MacMillan, a wealthy woman who has never married, invites several men her own age to her home to reminisce about the past. In memory, each romance seemed splendid, but in each case, Lydia realizes, the truth was less romantic.
