Hello Good evening everyone I apologize for being a little late my fancy headphones didn't want to play right buthere we are Once again it's the first thursday of the month I'm so glad tobe back with you and I got my partner back with me she bailed on me lastweek for some gala Uh what's up man Talk to us I'm here I'm here Helloeverybody we missed you The truth is Stephen got the weeks mixed up and uh I was actually on itand then we had to refocus so I was on it All right so let's go wake up butwe really missed you and we have a really exciting topic for you today that's gonna haveyou kind of scratching your head and maybe second guessing how you do things and operate within just not yourbusiness but your personal life Okay I hope I can recover from that bus thatjust ran over me So dad you got some news for let's start over what yourbig news has been You know I've been watching a couple of social media posts and you veryhappy Yes so I recently got news that two of my um my trademarks were approved two ofthe three the third one I I still I have gotten permission to go ahead anduse is still in waiting but it still can be used Um I've been working on really somecontent that focuses on workforce development entrepreneurship combining those and what does that look like for the new workforce thatwe are entering So its position yourself with the career correct your mindset and it'sreally teaching people how to become their own boss in a way You know a lot of what I've realizedas I've gone through my journey as an entrepreneur is that nobody handed me anything I really hadto know how to position myself how to take an opportunity when it was an opportunity Isit an opportunity and learn from a lot of mistakes and we're not taught that and whether you arean entrepreneur or you're in your career roadmap it's a business and you have to know how toprofessionally move through it So I'm very excited to be able to release this new workthat has been in work for years Great so what's the trademark names The first one isposition yourself the second one is the career preneurs and the third one is getting naked with yourbusiness So we got a career preneurs faith preneurs we got all kinds of preneurs it existed congratulations So thankyou tell people what is a trademark and why it's important I don't think the public want me tosay those things first Well I really wanted to protect what I create I realized that I'm abusiness more than anything in my business I really have very good strategic and innovating skills andI realized I have to start protecting what the ideas that I'm putting out there and everything thatI'm putting out there I'm I'm creating it as a framework as something that can guidepeople and move people forward I felt it was important as a part of my asset portfolio to makesure that I had um trademark those and before I started to really use them everywhere And the best partabout it is I found a grant I did it for free Nobody I didn't have to pay anythingLaw firm a law firm was offering it for small minority business owners I justwent through the process and I've got them all all done Hey Kirk come on mantelling people what happened you're about to jump on telling people what you want me You wantme to hop on and talk about it Yeah tom what tom did Okay Hi Kirk Behind the scenesguy I don't usually jump on the show but I'm gonna tell this quick story hiphop Stephen one of the first times meeting he and I were just you know I'm a first timebusiness owner um you know wanting to legitimize what we do we would kind of turn fromhobby into hustle into now a legitimate business And one of the first times heand I sat down he gave me so many gems but the greatest gem of themall was about how he was about to take the head nurse in charge and bring it underhis company's brand because he said you ain't got no trade market He said anybody could come in andtake you take your name And I said well wait a minute Hold on We've been doing this sinceI said hold on we've been doing this He said don't I think if the U S Patent office don'tgot your name on that name guess what It's open to anybody He said I trademark 10 nameseverything I think of stuff We we had a conversation and we both agreed on likea term He said it'll be trademarked by tomorrow So I love that brother to death JDsaid why I look like I'm coming from a swinger club because we're performing well before JD stop it Wewere performing in D C We down at blurred con but we could be at blur con as headnurse in charge is because we have our trademark We are how they say we legitimize nowand at the minimum I all jokes aside it's ridiculous how one panel that I was just recently doingtwo weeks ago I said how many black owned businesses do we have in the nerd culture Everybodyput their hand up I said now put your hand down If you don't if you have if youdon't have your trademark more than half the room put their hand down and then that was alearning opportunity for everybody to realize honestly you don't own your content You don't own your business You don'town anything until you go through the proper paperwork and make sure you call dibs onthe thing that you put in your heart and soul into So I'm out of here correct Heyyou know the president of blood Khan was just interviewed on the grill Hilton just interviewed on thegrill So he just ran his his piece today So good Have fun man Thank you for beinghere We all business right now I'll have fun after all Right so I'm very big on trademarks and verybig organizations having trademarks Yeah try to make I thought it was sunday and Wednesdays I tryto make a point to catch Okay thank you Glad you're here Glad your quarters were the firstthursday of the month Um I make a big deal about trademarks as well as our guestthis evening because she has trademarked a lot of things to around her business to protect himAs a matter of fact we at one time shared the same trademark attorney who was actuallya guest last month Clyde Bedell Assembly member Clive Burnell He was before that he was a trademark uh trademarkattorney So the reason I talk about trade but it's very hard to say you own abusiness if you don't own the trademark So I have a group My mastermind group members they thinkthis person that I was getting ready to put on blast was one of the membersIt's really not I want to call this person by his initials D W So meand D W Had a conversation D W Been in business for over about six or seven years Made afew million dollars but don't own a trademark but I like the name of his businessSo I'm giving D W I'm giving you D W Two this show next month the trademark yourbusiness name If you don't I will be on here live going into my U S PT O Account and I will spend $350 to trademark your business name There's nothingto D W Know that uh some people like to learn from experience Some people rather take the adviceI have learned that the advice cost less than the experience at times Okay somoving on Um one of the things that I definitely want to get us to havea conversation about first of all not a great job getting the trademarks Very important I like I likewhat you're doing and how you're gonna use them They're very important to build your brand Anyone whoknows me the people know me and my mastermind group They know they actually saythe first thing they say now I'm gonna trademark this before Stephen does You know actually I evencame up with a trademark idea on DR Grant showed that I had to stop for a minute So forthe first time ever I get to interview dr Grant dr Grant has always interviewed me and I wasactually on one of her programs when I came up with a term that I really said I gotta trainwalk that we were just talking about wanna be entrepreneurs people who want to be a preneursUh So that's that's my addition to the to the Preneurs brand is want to be a preneursokay they want to move into a couple of comments couple sections before we get into and learning more aboutfaith manure And one of them kurt can you bring up that um Chadwick mean because itreally goes into how business owners So you know if you read the mean this isnot the full story you know the government did not take half they actually putup a bond for that The executives of the state to do the right thing they would taketheir fees out and they would still you know give the rest of money to the to to the familiesUm Now there's some things different actors do when it comes to earning money and putting away his moneybecause they work in different countries And sometimes the studio that you know put movies outin those countries don't take the payment in U S Currency They'd rather leave the money in thecountry So that way they avoid taxes Matter of fact that's what ernst and Young is right now got accusedof because ernst and Young actually told one of their clients to create a shell company inIsrael so that they could buy the product from themselves pay no taxes and thenresell it back into the U S And the Rs was like no mo You just can't disrespect us likethis We want you know 1.7 million for that nonsense But what I want you to understand is thatthe will having a will having a having a land trust These are very important documents that understand thatyou really cannot be a business on If you're not ensuring your assets okay you can runaway and call yourself a solar print or whatever But if you're not insuring yourasif you don't have a will Uh if you don't have insurance you know what are youreally doing Because I don't know if any of y'all noticed and I know there may be somepeople that feel that their faith is going to regards of your faith you're going to die They make nomistake no matter what your religious belief in no matter what your religion is Every religion saysthat this human body will become a decrepit decaying corpse you're going to die And if youdie without any insurance without any will in place especially a living will or will so that sothat the probate courts don't have to decide how the money was going to be youyou're doing a disservice to your family Insurance Number one job is to provide for yourfamily as if you were still there the same thing it does for your business Itallows your business to continue or allow a political means for the business to discontinue my daughter Tia You knowI'm being transparent I had Covid last week I am now negative Did the testtoday and I'm negative again But Tia Yes thank you Tia asked me about what happensto me should I die Because like I got Covid he's like what happens next You know shewas a part of the business and I explained to her that I took precaution I did nothave that discussion with them I apologize for that But I sat down with my attorney and and insurance companyto take precautions to protect the business or to make sure the events can continue onthe decisions that they make may they may say they want to keep the businessgoing or they may want to sell the business that's entirely up to them Okay so I justwanted to make those things clear So number one uh if you're not out hereensuring yourself you know you're playing this game You know it's not smart I saw I remember twoyears ago we had new york state senator that passed away and we had to do ago fund me for a matter of fact kurt show that that mean that really talks aboutwhat it is Yeah So this is a sign that was actually show show the other photo tooSo this sign was what an insurance agent had on her table I was coming from whole foods in Harlemand she said don't let go for me be your insurance plan And that's 100% certain thereare ways better ways to do this than not taking the the steps necessary to protect yourfamily protect your business protect the things that you're looking to build So I really wantedto have that conversation with you all because I see too many people out herewho are you know they're flying by night not really paying attention to the foundation of what it means torun a strong company and then something happens and now they are unable to continue businessBut hopefully you take some some knowledge from that So number one uh your ideas your company name it shouldbe trademarked Uh your content should be booked should be copyrighted Okay The same U S Patenttrademark office uh responsible for copyrights and trademarks You know learn the system get your works protected especiallyif you don't copyright any of your written work that you you have no no you haveno challenge if anyone uses it You know So those are things to do if you are youknow regardless of your age or where you are have some insurance on yourself on your business Okayso tonight I am extremely happy to have my buddy here longtime friend Uh we go backand I get to sit in the chair and ask all the questions and what I youknow and I'm gonna lead off First of all this is dr Stacy N C Grantwho is one of the nation's foremost not just face manure but also M C Uh you know shedoes Frazier now I've been doing it for a number of years as well as other organizations She justdid what is it Black girls Princess Jenkins in the Black her her event uhas well So she's one of the foremost exciting speakers out there to listen to And withand got wrapped right into it as well and it's been fun ever since and I amso glad to have you here But the one thing that I want the public to knowis that this is a faith manure family because everybody in her family got a company you know most familieseverybody got a job but everybody her family got a company get that coin Okay let mebehave We didn't even start yet First of all thank you thank you for beingon and talk to us about what it means to have a full family out there working foryou know the way you guys work So so first of all can I just pause for the causeyou know I'm on here with the two superstars with Trans erupted Can we just I mean hello everybodyput a virtual applause out there Uh you know head nurse in charge has some of the best programmingever So it's an honor to be here with both you and allie tonight you are my brotherfrom another mother We go back like old highways and spinal cord So it's a blessing to be here totalk about what you are saying tonight before I even get into talking about myfamily we saw what covid did to remind us once again life is here for a moment but youhave to have your business in order We do not want to see the hard work sweat equity everything thatpeople work hard for go to the government the government has their cash and their coin and you needto keep yours to pass on to generations So protecting and having the trust and the wills protecting your intellectualproperty That is a must If you're tuning in and you're part of any of the programs withEdna is in charge and you're here with trans erupted Please you have to get your businessin order And the good news is it's not judgment We're not trying to show throw shade what we're tellingyou is don't just listen be an active participant in doing so you can getthe results So I just had to get that off my chest because you know I was ready tojump in on that on the beginning I thought you was gonna jump in especially on trademarksbecause you know you know I want to be right in decent order So I'd get invitedback to the show Actually actually let's switch things up So you have been very serious about protecting your brandtell us what you've been doing What does that what does that mean to youTo protect your brand So exactly what you shared before I saw a lot of peoplethat I admired that had certain levels of influence in the marketplace that I found out Ihad never protected their blood sweat and tears in building their brands their books their programs And when Imet our mutual attorney he was talking about how much exposure was left out there especially those in thepersonal development who are speakers and authors and trainers and they're coming up with all these unique and incredible ideasthat they are building programs and products for But anybody can come and swoop up and use it andprofit from it because we haven't protected it That's like leaving your Children out in the middle ofthe street just abandoned that anybody can come and scoop them up and claim to be their parentswhere would we do that So why do we treat our businesses the time and the effort that weput in to creating programs and products and not protected So once I learned c when you knowbetter you do better and sometimes it's just a matter of not being exposed to the right conversations and havingthe right people in your front row which is something that I talk about that can challenge you toshow up in your best self that can challenge you to look at creating a strong foundation not building onsand but building on a strong foundation that will outlast you Because what we do is it's reallynot about us but what we're setting up for the next generation and our futuregenerations so that they can have more and do more than what we had access to So protecting my intellectualproperty led me down a road of understanding the power in ownership the power inbeing able to leverage what you own because it's not just about owning your I P You can thensell it you can license it There's so much leverage that you are able to createfor you and your generations If you take the time to put things in right indecent order So just like having an attorney having an accountant having a back office arepart of just the fundamentals of business If you're creating if you're creating patents if you're creating trademarks andcopyrights that's a part of what you protect for your business structure so that you treat it as theasset that it is you took the time to create it You could have a millionpeople doing something similar but nobody can do you the way you do you andif you want to have ownership on how that lives in the marketplace you have to own itand the power in owning it also allows you to create and build legacy So yeah we talk about trademarkThat's a part of my annual conference Training is a part of the work that we do withDestiny designers university And the thing about doing the process I was listening to Natalie said shegot it done for free Mom weren't free I had to pay my attorney But it is wonderful tolook for opportunities where you can get the support and how to not only protect but knowhow to protect because it's one thing to get a trademark but they're different classes So you need tounderstand what classes you're protecting your intellectual property in because you can correct you can protectone but being exposed in another So you have to think holistically about what you're building And that's why whenit does when the opportunity presents itself rather to meet with a knowledgeable attorney to reallyguide you on what all of your options look like And you can gradually scaleand add more marks Uh two and more classes to your trademark You have to think about whetheryou want to keep it in the United States or you want to move it internationally Sothere's a whole lot more to learn But the bottom line for everyone watching todayif you are building a business if you have products and you have services andyou wanted to outlast you make the investment in yourself you're the best investment that you can makea bet on you and get the legal structures in place to make sure that yourlegacy outlives you So to the person who asked the question about what do you get firstI've always got a trademark First I got a trademark I even thought about whatthe business structure would be So when I birthed the name transfer uptick uh the first thing Ido want to see was the domain available and it's a trademark available Once those two thingswith those first two things I registered I can always figure out any later date what would be the structureof the company But I feel that it's always more important to have that trademarkin place and also then go to the LLC or whatever And LLC is not necessarily the bestmeans of business ownership for everyone That's one Once again that's where you have a questionanswered with a professional so that they can you know go over based upon your tax structure would bethe best way to set up your company Okay so transfer uptick is not an LLC transerupted is a benefit C corporation So in other words we are providing a social good but we're stilla regular C corporation I felt that was a better way than being an LLC especially comes towhat we do and to the tax structure So that's the decision that you want tomake independently Don't just go out There is a number of people on social media to tellyou I can help you form an LLC The devil is alive Make sure youget the right counsel wise counsel is important business that is very very important But mytake on it real quick definitely do the research in it But also understand that you can do alittle market research to really see what people are reacting to before you take thetime to spare and the investment on getting your intellectual property protected So that's just another context of you ItI don't think there's a right and wrong way per se It's what's best for you andhow you're building what you're building So there's a right way for you to do it Butthat takes getting the right counsel so that you have all the benefits of making a decision for whereyou will be not for where you are now but for where you will be correctThank you So doctor you have a household of entrepreneurs What is that like So here's the funny partof this story My Children only know their mother as an entrepreneur My life in corporate andthe things that I did was before I gave birth to them I'm not gonna tell you how old theyare because then you'll get an inkling on the fact that I'm climbing the ladder here Butthey both that's all they knew and experience So even in elementary school both of my kids were startingbusinesses one started one behind my back when he was like 10 years old he went to console with myattorney who were the first to as you know uncle you know how we do in the family youknow anybody that's an adult you don't call them by their first name their uncle soand so on so and so so he went and had a whole conversation with him because he wantedto get summer youth employment He wasn't old enough So they had a conversation aboutdifferent ways you can earn money as a preteen and blah blah blah Next thing I knew he wentout and started a lawn service didn't tell me got his best friend who liveda couple doors down and they took our lawn mower out of the garage andhave people sign up for a subscription lawn service that they would cut the lawn for $15 or$20 a week and he didn't even have a cell phone I said well how are peoplecontacting you Oh well I get in the house phone I said how you collectingmoney and you didn't even ask your parents if you could have a business but it was innate tohim that there are ways to make money and I can start generating money and youknow people actually paid him and he had a little roster of clients walking around the streetin a neighborhood where landscapers had contracts He was able to carve out a little niche for himself at 10years old doing lawn service and it just grew from there He became a DJ because we sawhis love for music This is for all the parents listening when your kids show you who they are listenearly and fast so you can move them in a direction that they are growingHe would get in trouble for tapping in class or humming for singing And a friend ofmine said did you put that boy in music class and I was like duh maybewe should put him in music He plays five instruments He started showing that he loved music somuch He started deejaying His grandmother bought him a turntable at 11 and he started deejayingas a professional DJ at 13 and ended up playing for the mayor of the city of newyork Mayor de Blasio twice for the west indian day parade I'm sharing this allwith you because it was in their blood My oldest son he was selling loose leaf andpencils during testing time when he he was in elementary school I was like what kind ofracketeering you got going on at the school I do not need the principal calling me buthe went with his grandmother got his supply from staples and he was like mait's supply and demand So entrepreneurship was in my Children he is now doing videography andphotography production work with my husband but my husband was not the entrepreneur he wascorporate America that's what he was used to and then he married someone who was As anentrepreneur and being the supportive husband he is 26 years in I love my babyDaddy thank God for that support But now after watching the development and supporting hiswife he launched a couple of years ago I think we're up to four years I reallythink about it his own production company as an entrepreneur So he has been learning he calls himself myfirst graduate of destiny designer because he is now building his enterprise with his skill It's one thingto support his wife which is great but I'm like you have a talent and weneed to get paid off of that too So all of us have a stream of income thatwe're contributing because my grandchildren and my great grandchildren will have the blueprint that my grandmotherdidn't have but that my platform honors because God answered her prayers through me to be ableto create space to grow and enterprise with an integrity to God's standing on our faith So we areabout getting that Well I'm not gonna say about getting the paper but it isabout getting the paper and why it's about building capacity God didn't intend for us to bebroke And I rebuke anyone who believes in God and thinks that we took ofour poverty for the rest of our life That's not what my word says and that's not whatI believe And I'm very vocal about my faith and what I stand on If we'regonna be the head and not to tell we have to have some capacity we can't help anybody if webroke You know my one of my mentors Les Brown loves to quote um reverend Ike isthat the best way not to be the best way to help people is tonot be one of them And there's some truth to that you can't help anybody if youare trying to beg peter to pay paul you're trying to pull things together And that's not to saythere is a space for bootstrapping and growing your business because we work with emerging faith preneurs whoare trying to figure it out and later foundation I remember what that was Established faith whoare they started but it's time to scale and grow and expand their reach andthen are empowered faith preneurs who now have the capacity to see kingdom business How canyou see anything if you don't have a thing to draw from So my household getsit understands it It's also helped to exponentially grow throughout my family and my cousins and relatives because they're seeingthat it's a process We don't sell overnight success What we sell is a opportunityfor you to believe in how God God created you to have more and not lessHow you have everything that you need in order to stay the course of a journey of development that willmanifest your reward in the marketplace Because somebody's looking for your solution somebody's looking for your answer Somebodyneeds you to bring some healing in this cray cray world and you get to profitoff of the oil in your life Okay I'm of course I feel like you're talkingto me I was like I'm like for me this was definitely for me So well I'm not shockedabout your family and your kids I'm not shocked about that because I realized when you when youcreate a table where that conversation is about business at dinner time I know we sat at mytable every day We talked about the day what what what happened during the day right And if you'rea business owner and the conversation is I got a new client we're gonna learn how toscale I'm looking at my p And now even if it's just general conversation theyget used to it and like to your point it becomes innate it becomes a part ofwho they are their D N A You know So I've always said that if the conversation hasnot had a table then you don't know right You don't And we see this all the time whenblack and brown business owners and we especially saw it during Covid when funding was available and books weren't readyand people couldn't get it together and all that stuff Right So I totally Ilove your message I love your word I love the message behind faith because I wasasking steve and I want to know what the faith manure is I love the fact thatyou operate in abundance because a lot of the time we're taught that we should be meek and mildand that's not the energy that I believe that we that that God wants us to operate in So thisis just it's very refreshing Well thank you for that Natalie and and that's the spacethat we wanted to create You know For me it was honoring the fact that when my grandmothertransition december 15th 2015 she was 98 years young and Natalie I was my grandmother's brat My cousins will tellyour mom tell you that's my grandma like I she had seven kids she gave birth to She raisedanother dozen But I was her number eight And I thought I knew everything about mygrandmother But it wasn't until we were burying her that my aunt told and shared with me astory that my uncle had created a whole piece to our house where she was able to set upa store and when she set up that store she opened it up excited to sell her weirs and peoplekept coming to the store and they didn't have enough money And my grandmother's heart was so big Shestarted layaway before layaway was a thing and she would allow them to take and they would promiseto bring back and they never did So my my grandfather shut down the whole store Natalie imagineif my grandmother had a destiny designers university that was producing the content that we do That hadan annual conference like faith in the weekend that had faculty like Stephen Jackson that we'reable to pour in and give her the tools that she needed so she could have created that storyas a profitable legacy to leave us But what I realized is that she did leaveus a legacy of faith My grandmother was unwavering when it came to her belief in God when she stoodon his word she believed him all the way Not partially like okay I served this guy He kind ofcool today but I don't know what he's gonna do on friday It was every day 24 7She believed what he said in the miracles that he was able to reduce in herlife for our family to see I am now sitting here as a beneficiary of her prayers I amnow sitting here as the manifestation of the answer because I can honor her dreamI started the business that she wasn't able to start I'm creating the legacy that she he wasn't ableto fully see manifested before she left this earth But she's watching me with the best angel viewfrom heaven because everything that God promised her he did it through her child's childand everything that he is promising me The things that I see now and thethings that I will see when I have a different vantage point my Children's Children will be able tobe a part of that because a good steward and a wise man leaves aninheritance for his Children's Children and faith endures are all about doing that Faith based entrepreneursand faith based professionals We don't tell you gotta quit your job to be a faith Youmight love what you do but you want multiple streams of income to add to your personal economy Sowe leverage our relationships our resources and our revenue to create a sustainable profitable legacyby being cash flow positive and unapologetically profitable That's what faith manure is that we collaborate in the processI love it Let's take this back to the beginning Okay what is faith during weekendcoming up next month What what is what goes on What happens Well thank you for thatquestion thank you for that question So you were there when we built this um I mentioned my grandmother'stransition and that led to my signature book being released on the eve of her birthday in 2016 2017She would have been 9100 years old And I said let's have a legacy dinner 2018 came andI said I have to keep this legacy going How are we gonna celebrate how we buildour businesses with an integer to God unapologetically standing in our faith And I told myhusband we're gonna do a faith and our weekend he was like dear Lord help this woman Wewent from a book launch to a dinner and now she talked about a three day weekendand I said we're gonna do it And we went down and did this conference in the middle of wherethe ball drops every year New york Marriott marquis People were like why is she doing it down thereWhere is she gonna get the sponsors for it He might not talk about uh faithand and business nobody wants to put money in that They had all kind of naysayers whowanted me to have it in the church basement And I said there's nothing against the church basement butthe God I serve owns everything So why am I limiting the vision for what faith noise canbe And starting out with just the vision We have grown it from three days to fourdays This year is our fifth annual faith nor weekend experience It is now four days we startoff with a faithful God talent segment where we highlight the talent of our young people inmusic and art dance spoken word I just got off the phone earlier collaborating with agirlfriend of mine whose documentary is going to be viewed on own Tv network we're gonna doa screening because guess what Hello steven I didn't even get to tell you thisthis fifth year We are broadcasting live on exposure plus tv network as a pay perview We done moved on up to the east side because my God can do itSo virtually those who who are joining will be joining on pay per view and thosewho are coming in person for a hybrid event will be in the theater wherewe're producing the whole of paper or a weekend and then we go into thursday where is thegala You just saw the flyer I honor my friends not just because their bossesand millionaires and all this wonderful accolade that you will see in their bios but I happen topray with them having to do business with them I happen to work with them and Iget to celebrate them on our legacy gala but we talk about how they built their enterprises withoutcompromising their faith and they are very profitable and then friday it's an all day trainingand development opportunity where we get into how to leverage your revenue your resources your relationships how to honoryour temple cause you can make all the money in the world if you are sick as poor little Idon't know what I'm trying to move about What what sense is it what profit is it ifyou can't enjoy all your hard work So we get into those conversations we talkabout uh relationships and a sense of how do you partner with someone who complementsyou We have a millennial segment where we talk about passing the baton we don't need to hold on everythingSome of us can't let go make room for the next generation And my youngest son he's talking aboutthe gen z take over So we having a full training uh development on the fridayand we close out on saturday morning with our faith in our V I P Prayerbreakfast for 13 years I've been hosting a prayer call which started from fraser net That Stephenmentioned earlier at another conference with one of my mentors dr Frasier I saw peoplewalking around confused like what do I do what do I do And I said let's get togetherfor Sunrise prayer and ask God to direct our steps to know what to invest in at whattime and with what person and I got back home Natalie people were calling meup talking about what time is prayer I'm like we're talking about Willis and they said no nowe need to keep this going And so I committed to praying with them every saturday And it grewand it grew and it grew and then we started um recording it and sharing therecordings and then clubhouse came into view and now we do it live on clubhouse and the call oneconference call was God set up one conference call and obedience and keeping that open has opened upso many blessings and we do the call live to close out the whole weekend experience and I giveout an award to our international corporate faith preneurs pearl recipient and out of my grandmother that'sthe faith manure who's in corporate America but still building an enterprise as additional stream of income for their retirementSo that was that But we gotta love that I love that I love the story about yourgrandmother I told my grandmother used to I say that she was she was the original importer and exporterbecause she would take she would barrel things up send it to Jamaica have thebasement and then she would sell everything there to your point when she died itwas like where is everything where you know what I mean Right And if she only had bettersupport better knowledge better know how Right So I think that's very proud naturally you're nottelling me say yeah yeah yeah speaking spoken we don't know say y'all one of meif I speak it I will offend you and my biggest thing is when people talk Jamaican and I'm likedon't do that don't ever ever do that again you're disrespecting my whole being right nowBut then I I can understand because if I couldn't there be some big problems athome Absolutely absolutely I used to get annoyed with that in college sidebar they like speak JamaicanI'm like Jamaican is not a language it's a dialect it's an accent Lord of Mercy but coming fromJamaica it's certain work ethic that we grew up with and and not to saythat that's not in other cultures and of course here with our brothers and sisters but itwas something about how you work and how you stay diligent and you have to stay the courseso many entrepreneurs whether their faith manure entrepreneur um all the different preneurs that are nowbeing protected out there you have to stay in for the long haul This is not overnight allthe people that you think become Youtube famous and instagram famous and overnight famous If it's not built ona strong foundation it will crumble and fall So being a part of trance reupped it and beinghere with head nurse in charge gives you roadmaps and opportunities for you to look at frameworks thatcreate a solid foundation for your journey and you hear me talk a lot about the journey ofa faith manure The only difference with us is that we understand that we answer to someone higher than usthat we've been given we believe in lately We've been given the skills the gifts and thetalents in order to multiply it not to hide it So there's a process that comes alongwith the journey and that's what ultimately we fortify our faith Preneurs with at our annual conference everyyear with our gear round training and development now with the launch of the Faith Preneurs Maga Nowwe're building out the TV network in our partnership with exposure plus and Steven has beena witness to all of this staying the course building growing and expanding so thatwe can reach the masses and reach our goal of one million cash flow positive faithnoise by 2025 awesome You know it's interesting because ice always teased doctor granted she's getting like Tyler Perry she'sput every every day on Facebook she's putting on another show That was my practice runYeah it definitely was I mean eight o'clock in the morning there's this Doctor Grant show fouro'clock in the afternoon when another day there's a Doctor Grant show I love itAnd then it was my favorite was Dream Dude done Yeah we've been one ofmy favorites So I mean uh actually what's up with the journals So the journals are still being produced We'regonna lift dream dude done onto the faith in our network So we're we're transitioning everything because nowit's growing bigger and broader All our products are still available and we're just expanding We're expanding the reach Ibelieve in collaboration I believe in the opportunity for us to share access and anything that Ihave access to Stephen already knows he has access to And now by default Natalie you have access toit right kurt has access to it because it's not about keeping it to yourself is how doyou expand and grow This is the year of Grace This is the year of Grace Forfor me it's our fifth anniversary faithful your weekend experience But now the experience has growninto a movement and everyone who's interested in registering Yes they can go to the website but I wanthead nurse in charge to know I want trans ruptured to know that Grace is what I need you toremember because if you're interested in the in person V I P Which is about to be closedbecause Covid is real Thank God steven that you are okay We're not filling the house We're limitingour numbers to keep everyone as safe as possible But for all of what I shared their mealstheir bonuses their gifts and and that in and of itself is only 4 97 becausewe discounted it because of everything going on in the world But if you usethe code Grace you get to take off $400 off of that price I'm just saying you got thatput that information up there on live on the screen so people can take advantage of it butthat's what we want them to do Uh and I said for the first time I attended my first faithinto a conference as a as a speaker had took the podium with my good buddy suddenlyremember Clyde you know we kind of find ourselves talking about very similar things and it's reallybeen a wonderful great experience and you have a panel that I don't see anywhere else in the country andI want you to talk a little bit more about you do a panel for couples business Absolutelybecause I think that's that's important because too often entrepreneurs don't feel they have the supportthat they are looking for from their significant others or from family members and stuff and sometimes thosesignificant others or family members don't know how to support the entrepreneur entrepreneur doesn't even know at times whatdo I really need besides more sales you know but what else So what isthat what what what what that panel about and what's so special about I meanto me it is a special panel it's always the crowd favor it's always the crowd favorite especially withum the different couples that I bring on because it's an honest conversation we need to have if youare dating or married to someone who is an entrepreneur and you didn't meet them that way thereis an adjustment in your relationship that is going to happen because there's a different drive there's a different workethic there's a different commitment to the building that is required for someone who is anentrepreneur and you have to be able to have those conversations especially if the person didn't knowthat was in you they managed one way they dated you one way but they didn't knowyou were going to have this newfound fire about building and growing a business and everything that comes withit and honestly some people aren't ready for that It can be a game changer insome relationships because they don't like the public facing view they don't like always being out and networking Sowe talk about how to that and then if you are married to an entrepreneurand you both are on the same page it's also creating space for the downtime because if you both areon 100 all the time then you might not be intentional about creating the space that'snecessary to keep your love your relationship you're working situation and your personal situation intact So we are able totalk about all of those different variations and for those who might be well I'msingle and you know I can't find someone who understands I say show up the way youwant to be received and don't compromise because if they can't match or manage your drive while you'rebuilding and grinding they won't be able to complement you If you get into a serious relationship you have tobe able to have those honest conversation doesn't mean that they're a bad person but they might not be theright person for you and growing and building your enterprise This is so accurate kurt are you listening Just saytype guest if you're listening because we had a similar conversation Okay go ahead I am so gladthat this came up because um when I met my husband now we met in college but Ithink he always knew I was a go getter I was president of the B S U Iwas doing everything We dated I was working in corporate America and then one day Iwas like I got laid off and I was like I just wanna start a business willyou support that He supported it right and not a day has gone by where I feellike he feels any way about it He understands I'm gonna be working late tonight He really he workshe's just awesome with it And it's funny because people are always like what doesyour husband think about never being home never And I'm like how do you know I don't spend time withhim We have built that in our relationship and and him watching me he started his own businessand I think that became tricky when I have to coach him on things he's doing inhis business and what we developed is that whatever I have to coach him because he needs to improvea process or I see an opportunity I say Anthony I'm changing into priceless right now Please don't get offendedRight This is what I would say to a client and I change my tone And thenI say okay I'm coming back right And he just knows and that has worked Really really well forus Um we've been together for 19 years and out of the 19 years forthing about it he understands that he doesn't need to be everywhere He doesn't need to shadowme right People come to me and they're like Oh where's your husband Where is heHe's mine Not yours Don't worry about it Don't worry about it right Like like he doesn't he doesn't wantto be in the public eye like that If he had to he would do itBut I don't I don't I need his he's my um he's my piece he'smy escape He gets I get to do all the fun things that make meme with him and I love that But when it's business you don't need to bearound that that's not his portion and and we have to be okay with that But here's what I alsosay real quick It's hurtful for the person that you love The person that you're building with not to beinterested in what you're doing right And sometimes we have to be conscious of that andallow for even if it's not your thing at least ask the question How isit going at least read the book if someone published a book at least come toone event Because that's hurtful if the person that you love doesn't love you enough to be interestedin what it is that you're building and growing So I don't know who that's for But whoever that canbless may that be something Oh no we're gonna get it back That was such a good topic Sothe promo code for the face of the weekend is Grace G R A C E For anyone whosigns up and looking to attend Check that link It didn't go through the link He had tolink up I just tested it It went to a dead plage Faith preneurs weekend dot com Let me justcheck something Okay please do We don't wanna get people all over the place Can help it UhOh yeah I wouldn't be with my husband if he wasn't supporting what I did I would like if ifif this if he if his ego was too much he couldn't handle me and all of mytype D Personality It wouldn't work But I know how to manage it with I knowhow to keep that respect and and manage it in that that's always been very interesting because uh people jumpout there into relationships and uh like for me the lesson I had to learn was how to turnbusiness off and create personal space And I wasn't getting that lesson early enough and you know fortunately Idid get it before it got to the D Word because that at some point it probablywould have went there but I had to learn that lesson of I don't you know I'mnot a doctor I don't save lives so there's really no reason for me to be running businesses 10 o'clockat night 11 o'clock because someone feels they have access to me you know sohe is how to manage the time between the both of dr grant I know you have to go anymore words you need us you would like for us to our audience to hear from you first of allthank you again for having me here Um You know sometimes facebook can be funny whenyou put the w W So you know just go straight to face throw weekenddot com and just check it out Just just visit if only to learn about thestory if only to look at the history of where this started and I want to close with sharing oneof my life lessons in my book Action Action despite the distraction it's not about being perfect it'sabout getting started So you have something to perfect It's not about being perfect it's about getting started Soyou have something to perfect That is my second life lesson Why is that important Whether it be getting yourtrademark whether it be starting your business whether it be scaling your business whether it be the relationshipwhether it be the resources that you need whether it be the product development start don't worry about howperfect it is Work in the spirit of Excellence Put your best version out and we find it asyou go in the book I use an example of a device that many ofus have That's named after a fruit I don't call the name because they're notsponsoring me yet But every single year they have multiple releases of imperfect items that people standon all online's across the globe to get this particular item knowing that it's not perfect knowing there'sgonna be an update Knowing there's gonna be above knowing there's gonna be an issueBut they focus more on giving the best quality version that they can and they dothe updates later So if a multimillion dollar brand can launch with imperfections what are youwaiting on That's my word for you today That's a good word because uh 100% credit That's theis coming will complete all my imperfect actions This is what yes we are on the same pageWe are So before you go there's two things you gotta talk about Give us thename of your book again Can they find it on the face of your weekendYeah well they can go to action action book dot com and grab their copy Um I'll putit in the back channel so we can share that But that book is a must have it's a wholelibrary that has come out of it that we're gonna be releasing this year at the conference But it'san opportunity for you to stop making excuses and take action right That's the bottom line you'rearound me you can't stay stagnant If you're around me you're gonna move because I shift theatmosphere I change the energy and I get action out of you So it's all about And that's ourconference theme this year Action despite the distraction living your faith in three D So actionaction book dot com So you can get the book you know about the conference andif you need me um Stephen is my unofficial manager So if you want to book me fora speaking event you can go through He gotta vet you first make sure your coins areright and then we can talk definitely so definitely So I've been in that roombefore and the last thing I want you my favorite thing of yours is the dream dude DoneJournal as you know I gave those out last year and now I'll be doing it againI know I'll be doing it again this year Uh talk about where can we find and whatmakes that journal so special you know I know what makes it special for me andfor the people I've given it to So the Dream View done Journal is a collaborationbetween Serena Brown Travis Les Brown's baby girl and Tamara Hartley Massaro and myself The threeof us used to have conversations behind the scenes and we brought those conversations to the publicaround how to keep each honor keep each other honest in our growth development So it's almost likemasterminding every single week and we made that collaborative conversation a way for us to go through whatwe need to stay focused on the journey So the journal breaks down how your mindworks how you can take action notes how you can measure your results from month to month andwe give you some touch points some measuring tools tools and some resources and quotes and information that justkeeps it interactive so that when you're flipping through your journal you can actually see your progress from quarterto quarter and not just get stuck in one area where you're not seeing the results if youkeep moving you can utilize my formula for success consistent action plus extended period of time equalsmaximum results And the dream Dude Dream Journal allows you to do just that So you'redone dot com and grab your copy because it is a must have for your library Itdefinitely is like I said I've given them out two good friends who they reallyenjoyed it you know So we just in a short period of time we've been talking to youwe didn't uncover it like four of your businesses Yeah we started talking about I'm a true Jamaicanright So you have seen you're watching one woman who's created multiple streams of income basedon her knowledge and her belief Okay that's something to take away from this You don't take anything else tothink about You yourself have a living knowledge of things that you are great at you're good atand you can create streams of income from that you know and she hasn't we haven'ttalked about uh Faith University destiny designer universe We didn't get into that conversation Is it is a fewother things that she is you know consistently doing on a regular basis So she createsmultiple streams of income based on her skills And that is what you also be looking to do theability to take what you learn what you know what you love what you believe and create those streams ofincome So that yeah you better be my friend on facebook don't make me feel sometimes I'll make sureI correct that in addition the reason why I have to jump off is thatI've had a fundraiser going on while we were in the show for me runningfor international That's right I didn't mention that So she is running for International PresidentYes Sorority Incorporated and they are waiting for me outside I said but honey I'm on tranceReupped it on Head Nurse in charge baby you got to just hold on a minuteWell first of all I can't vote for you but you know you have myutmost support that you that you win You're definitely a great candidate You definitely I knowyou're gonna bring some really forward thinking uh stuff too you know I appreciate that Thankyou wish you much success and everything you do Okay thank you I love you my brother NatalieMissus tree you know it got clear love you like cook food and Curtis Curtis youknow you're my brother from another mother too and I thank God for you and excitedfor how Head nurse in charges continue to take over the universe to go out there andtransfer erupted family love that and I'll see you next time Bye take care So ladies andgentlemen thank you for being with us this evening I hope that dr Grant inspired you allto uh take what you already have learned to package it and create those those streams ofincome out there in the world for yourself It is uh it's it's liberating to be an entrepreneurto be a business owner It allows you more control of your life which isone of the things that I always enjoyed about it you know and if you feel this is foryou then you know start to take that road to it We are trans ruptured were preparingto launch our first cohorts we just finished getting everyone up to date on a coursethat we're gonna be utilizing as part of our training So we're gonna have informationabout our first to the cohorts that's gonna start very soon All that information on the website as well asthe show is going to actually start to be produced through the website as wellWe head nurse in charge they're gonna be doing some amazing things with their content We'reglad to be a part of their their platform definitely apart have a great friendship withwith kurt uh and his organization Natalie the last words I love dr Stacey Grant she wasamazing she's amazing It was great I felt like she was talking to me in some casesso I feel good sometimes you need that read that that confirmation but what I have to sayin the words of blue tangs protect your neck Get those trademarks alright that is all I have to sayin the words of the womb and the 36 change first protect your neck and actually naughty by nature sayssays something very similar to guard your guard your grill so protect your death and guard your grill So Idon't I want everyone to know that I'm not dumping on jumping on people and say ifyou're not doing this you know you're not legitimate and stuff this is done out of out of love Iwant to see you all back white businesses successful but in order for that to happen we gottaset the foundation we got to build a foundation We can't leave ourselves vulnerable because I I can personallytell you I know are some people who all they do is sit around and wait for you to fallso they can scoop up your stuff at penny's I know an individual he has made aboutclose to $10 million by waiting for patents to expire and he scoops him up and he youknow Samsung and Microsoft and other companies to pay him a couple of million dollars to get their patent backOkay so there are always gonna be individuals who are just waiting for you to stumble and they were scoopingand like oh well you don't have this Okay well And I know many people have some sortof feeling with 50 cent did it to Tina Marie to her business but that was a seriousbusiness lesson she had you know you got advisers and stuff they should advise her to how are yougonna put out a clothing line and don't trademark anything you know so that's what this really comes downto You know and there are individuals like dr humor and dr Boyce Watkins and others who are consistentlyputting out these type of messages for us to learn to do things better That's what thisis all about The last thing I want to you know like we're great people andwe are more than um you know one brother bringing a happy meal for one person out of fiveyou know that's not who we really are is a great you know it was a great conversation I'mgonna get into it you know but I want to see us having more conversations abouthow we and our families discuss credit discuss how to use money discuss how money should be left Let's starthaving more of those conversations with our families Let's have some authentic conversation with our Children about ourfamily history our health history our financial history Let's really start to have those type of conversations start to bea little bit more transparent with our loved ones and the ones who you know are comingup behind us so that they don't make certain mistakes so they can learn and they can poweron and be the next better generation You know that's what I would love to see usdo more of it just starts with just as you said now we have a simpleconversation at the dinner table So instead of talking about homeboy and you know whether he was right for bringingone meal or or five meals or whatever meal he didn't bring Let's have a conversation about Well iswhat a credit score means to me So I thank you all have a great week nice wife clockworkOur guest That's right He's actually set up My time is up Good night Everybodyhave a great week Talk to you soon Thank you for being on
