Lorelei Lee is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond, much to the disapproval of Gus’ rich father. When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw, Esmond Sr. hires a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behavior that would disqualify her from the marriage.

Captain Caveman is the titular hero of the cartoon series of the same name, he is a caveman brought back to life in the modern age who fights crime and injustice with the aid of his band of mainly female friends: he is armed with a large club and is famous for his battle-cry of "CAPTAIN CAVEMAN!".

Private Snafu is seen performing the tedious task of sorting boots. Driven to madness by boredom he is taken to visit his brothers, Seaman Tarfu and Fubar by the gruff Technical Fairy, First Class, somewhat in the spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas.
