OK How about it All right I'm gonna start record in a minute here It says I'm not leaving somebodyleaving No it says up here in my little corner it said leaving meeting leave meeting Oh noI I guess it just came up I don't know Ok No it's that the that shouldthat should be it should be an issue OK Ok Oh you all good I'm I'm I'm goodOK cool We'll go ahead and get started Thank you ladies and gentlemen once again for another editionof Digital Soul Presents I have a gentleman on the show today who is uh multitalentedI had the pleasure of meeting him about a month and a half ago at a show and uhwe had a chance to to talk a little bit about what he's doing and what he's up to Anduh I said man we we talk he said yeah we gotta talk So we are here to talkHere we go I want to introduce his brother multitalented singer uh bass player uh touring all aroundthe world with the magical uh music of Motown right now which is just amazing Uh The clips that I'veseen We're gonna talk about that and his new single Mr Frank Graves is in the building How youdoing Frank Thank you sir I really appreciate it I really appreciate it How are you doing todayI'm just uh excited to talk to you man I mean after meeting you down in Pasadenauh that was a blessing bro And uh I uh uh really it's just a joy to be able tolike have that conversation with you and then like sit down and actually uh for this to behappening right now All I can do is give uh give you thanks and appreciate that you taking thetime to even talk to me Absolutely My brother thank you for being on the show and and and uhI'm not the only one you just uh you actually hit me to an article thatyou just had in Hollywood Weekly as well We wanna we wanna congratulate you on thatThank you sir I had a chance to uh see that article talk talk a little bitabout when you got the news to for that article That that that's amazing Yeah you know thatum before that article came uh I was actually introduced to them to Hollywood Magazineby uh Wanda Willis you know the actor and uh Wanda and I had uhdone some judging on uh what call the raw talent shows you younger people And I met her andI got to liking her you know and then uh she invited me down tolike a birthday party and I went down and I got a chance to meet someother people who were uh coming up in the industry you know taking movies or doing interviews And uh sobasically after that you know then I got a message from uh uh one dayand said hey uh I got this article this this company Hollywood magazine wants to talkto you And I said oh yeah Right You know like anything else you know howthe business is man So I said OK but they did and they called me and uh preJackson uh the CEO uh called me and uh we talked for a while and he said hey I'm interestedin your whole background What have you been doing Who you've been around or what'sbeen going on And I told him I said hey man this is a busyworld I mean this music world is huge And so I told my you know I've been I've beenat it for some time now probably about probably about 40 years A little bit better you know Uhit's it's it's uh it's it's something else you know you gotta you gotta have family and friends and acquaintanceand and if you don't have that it's cool Yeah Yeah you really do And uhbut one of the things I learned was to just be myself uh and to remain that way youknow regardless of what goes down what happens and uh keep on um working onthe gifts and talents are the gifts that you've been given And that is the main thingthat I you know that I've worked with and that's where all of this came from YeahWhere where are you originally from Frank from Lexington Kentucky Oh yeah You talk a littlebit about growing up in Kentucky Is that where you actually figured out that you were musically inclined or gotinto music back in Kentucky Yeah Actually I was um one of the little lead singers in the choir forthe young uh for the youth and uh then I did um in high schoolyou know we had those talent shows for you know that you used to have in high school thingsthat you used to do and um uh I just kind of like continued from there but it didn'treally happen until after I uh uh graduated and I went to the military andI didn't really know what was going on pretty much after I come out of the militaryAnd when I got back uh a friend of mine we was in high school together anduh as a matter of fact he was one of the lead trumpet for uh Ohio players Yeah Anduh so his name was Dwayne He died a little young you know and um but Dwayne said heyyou're still playing your I was initially playing Brass Trumbo And so when we had oneof the hottest marching bands in the in the in the in Lexington man in the state as a matterof fact kind of like Grambling you know we was coming off the style of Grambling and and in KentuckyState University and matter of fact all of the University of Grambling in Florida A and M man that's thatwas that that was it that was it you know high step get it on back you know doneby barricades They called Us Men and White Man We had a band that wouldn't quit Anduh but uh I was playing a trombone at the time and so he askedme to come down and audition for his band which called uh the group was called Dynamic SoSeven they was out of a little city called um uh Richmond Kentucky And so I did I went downand audition with him and um he kinda like hit it off immediately man We was it was kindof like Tower Power bro you know we had a bad horn section and it was just kinda likethat's where it started and that's where it just kind of kept on blooming from youknow and I'm I'm happy really happy Yeah I I when I was reading that article I saw a mentionof that Dynamic Soul 71 of the first things that that entered my mind I I've always beenfascinated by like seventies groups with the with those kind of names that the the dynamic superiorsor the intruders you know they're just really dramatic So when I saw that that that groupname I was like they gotta have some recordings because if they do I'm fine Soso my question is is there existing recordings of any of those uh songs you knowbecause we didn't have um believe it or not we didn't have the connections that uh the guyslike 00 how like oh how players uh with Doug Moody and all those people we didn't even knowwhat the good business management was You know we just had a guy that you know thatdid it for us and by has been down in uh Kentucky you know we weren't what youcall right in the uh general area like oh how uh Tennessee uh all those those individualslike always talking to each other you know and and so that's where like um Otis Redding Al Green uhthe bar cases Uh you know it's kind of like that's that's the way it was you knowthe people that I was craving or was trying to emulate or be like at the time Sam andDave uh of course Al Green Teddy Pendergrass was there Uh I even got to thepoint I used to have a real high voice and I was always doing like Aretha Franklin Patti labelle uhbecause those were just awesome singles at the time man Gladys Knight was out you know Andum it was like that's that's the way it was you know one or two ofthe guys believe it or not Uh one of our lead Sanders uh got picked up byMotek uh but he uh uh he quit before I guess they got started or whatever the case But uhuh he was really really like nice you know and we just yeah we was supportiveof him you know and told him you know if that's what you feel you need togo Uh There it wasn't like everybody mad at somebody about making it because weall wanted to be mu musicians But um I was taught to have a job first Thatmusic was not that that breadwinner you know and it's like and and that's whatI done you know I took on my job and after that it was like job first man and everybodyelse you know the music comes next you know and even though it was a love anda strong love it was like uh because that's where I started doing all of my gospel andeverything else that followed you know you mentioned you know some some uh some influences a littlebit earlier Um You said you mentioned the Gladys Knight and you mentioned you know Sam andDave and some of those other artists who were like your real like your favorite oryour go to like all even still like even back then and then even now to this daylike do you have a top three or top couple that you always really really love YeahUm if I look at the ones that I was really around you know as oftenor just listen to us as much probably like Gladys Knight Most of that recipe a nice voice I meanthe the pips kinda like gave it the nice background but Gladys got a voice man That's I don't knowit's it's got that feel you know uh the rest of them could do like the high notes That wasfine I mean they could sing but when I was looking and then um in termsof male singles Al green to me was like uh the nice one Otis Redding uh was a littleraspy a little pushy Um I guess you know when you're looking at artists and you'retrying to find your way Teddy Pendergrass was nice with the with the blue notes And uh obviously whenhe broke away like a lot of the other singers you know it's kind oflike TED it really turned out to be like you know really nice man And um so I Istill listen to a lot of those May I have a whole uh a wholepack of the uh 70 eights I got bro I got I got a whole bunchof them you know And uh I got uh you know and even GQ when they camealong GGQGQ was nice Uh The fifth dimension you know fifth dimension was um different style on ityou know Yeah You know and so because I was doing uh in the church doing gospel um my thingwas always harmony good solid harmony and you just don't have good solid harmony Everybody wants to be asingle star and I'm still into that harmony man I'm still into uh having thatgood quality group but everybody's fighting to be number one And I'm I'm not into thateither I just want to get on stage and have a good time and then I want the peoplethat I'm around have a good time And so I don't have to hog thestage I'm willing to share you know and but I used to have a lot of people ask me aboutuh aren't you afraid that somebody would like come on stage and steal it AndI said no because whatever I got it I'm gonna present and whatever they got let them present I can'tdo nothing about the crowd All I can do is put the show now if that person gotover and they wanted him back as long as I got paid for that evening I don't care likea true performer y'all I'm serious I I don't care you know like you got your stuffand you and if you want to walk off stage and said man I blowed him or Idid it is I did it Well that's all right But I got that check in the bank Youcame to do a job and you did it I came to do a job and that's what it isbecause those individuals who came to see me you know uh I was trying topresent something for them I'm still I'm still old school and I'm gonna stay old school you know rightup until it ain't no more man because I don't know you know that's that's that'sjust the way it is right now you know Very bad very bad Yeah I know Uh You mentionedall those artists too as well and and and and and listening to all of that combinationlike you mentioned Otis Redding and all those guys uh I had a chance and the opportunity to checkout some clips on youtube of the magical music of Motown uh which you're inAnd uh I have to ask me though you you you you emulate a lot of different people andand I'm mad at myself uh at this play because I have not gone to see this sooner So soFred you have my word on camera that cause I cause I actually after I looked atthe clips I went to the schedule and I saw that you guys have somedates coming up this year so I will be getting tickets and checking out the show Soladies and gentlemen you guys have to see this show because you did I mean you didsome Marvin some and some smokey I mean and you just effort effortlessly just flow intothese songs And uh it's it's magical It is magical How how how you howyou seen through these songs of of of Motown uh Tuck talk a little bit about gettinginto this uh this this uh program here Well let me let me go to thebackside and I then I want to come to the front after um the newMo Mo town this new group coming up is a new group the the uh original manager or orthey call it the organization of it Uh He had a triple bypass and so I don't know whatis the condition of of that going on and they don't and they decided toto make some changes and I want changes that they wanted to make and I don't know whatother changes you know they decided to make after that Uh I'm not uh uh Iwas asked was I angry about it And I told him no that that's thenature of the business Uh I'm I'm not one of those individuals that hold on to changes If there's achange to be made I know what I I did I know how I perform and Iknow what I'm like on stage and the people who came to support me or and the groupbut basically I had a lot of good following and uh and I still have a goodbase My thing was uh uh if I told them where I was going to be at they werethere you know to support uh I had people coming in because I'm part of the uh uh highwaypatrol as a volunteer Uh people will come in from that People come in frommy movie sets because I'm an actor as well I do acting And uh so it's kind of like I'mand I call those individuals to wish them all the best because that's the wayit should be You know that's the way I look at it Uh If you don't mind like Miss Cathymarried who was the lead singer who did uh uh if I could be in my whole world aroundyou that young lady is awesome Uh Skyler the other young lady that's uh sung um heard it through thegrapevine and of course Monster uh who's the other lead singer male singer on stage togetheras a group or unit I just felt like our uh harmony was getting better But umwhat we have what we think is not always what other people think And uh so it was kindof like ok uh this is the way it is and I talked to them now asa matter of fact I'm going down uh uh this this weekend uh Sunday to support uh Honeycombbecause they are part of honeycomb Yeah And uh so Cathy uh Miss uh Shaley Clark anduh Wendy love them I mean I I love them because they they have sustainedand they are just got a lot of energy and so it's kind of like uhso I'm sorry you're gonna miss me now But until I do that but it's not overyou know it's it's not over because uh there are a lot of things I Ijust feel like are coming down the road Uh and I got a lot of thingsgoing on input you know that I'm hoping that uh all I'm pretty much praying that if Icontinue to do the right things uh that it'll come you know and by me being downby the way but I've been down at the club with you just to get pass a little fewthings down been down in Pasadena It was just such a nice pleasant thing to meet uhLie Nero The bass player brother is you know you find a lot of musicians don'twanna talk or or not having any laughter But these brothers uh uh Tate Sims Victor Orlando Victor playedwith me on on on one of my shows Um Normally I carry like an eight piece bandand uh I've got some of the bro I've got some of the best players in my careerhere that I've been around man I've had um Ron Roseberry formerly of uh of uh Rolls Royce UmI got uh James Loon who's the lead guitar player for James in England Uh Ronnie Kaufman gap banduh Rich attorney ad Keys They call him the prodigy uh with Eric Barris Uhof course Victor uh I could just go on and on with the people that I'vebeen on stage with who's been in the who's been in the band with me or played with meon stage And uh that's to me uh uh I had a lot of peopleask me how how do you get how do you get these guys to play with youI said well first of all it's called Monday You gotta you gotta gotta pay the musiciansbut I'm I'm willing to do that because I because playing in the band I realized you know asan artist that those are the individuals that actually make you they really do And so um I I theones the artists that actually pay their musicians I applaud them for the ones thatdon't they need to recognize the fact that these guys make them if they're number one So if you gotan artist that's number one on the charts they ought to be super happy because they didn'tget the number one without any help None of them you know Michael Jackson No no no no prints NoI could just keep going but they didn't get there without all of these other musicians and andand that was one of the main things that I learned uh as I played uh on the road thatI told myself that whenever I perform I'm going to make sure that they get good dollar because I'vebeen blessed And I know I keep saying that but it's true I've been blessed And sowhen when you get that people can call you arrogant they can say oh you just arrogant Well I'mgonna remain arrogant because my thing is that I'm I'm I'm I'm good at what Ido and I just I just believe that if I go on stage and you giveme a song I'm gonna hurt you I'm gonna give it the best because that's the way it shouldbe You know that's the way it should be So that's what that Motown stuff And I andI just talked to him like I said one or two my singles you know this this weekand then when I see him this weekend I'm just gonna support him just like we've beentogether forever man You know very uh in case a lot of people don't know I'm gonna throwa little tit bit out there for some of these musicians A lot of people probably don't know thatVerdine White with her Win and Fire That's a beautiful book And I mean Idon't know all his life but I'm talking in terms in terms of conversation That brother is niceShaylee Clark for the Honeycomb Totally awesome Uh I went to a red carpet thing down inL A Uh we had a ball to sit down we talk she didn't even knowme but we know each other now and and and uh they know that I'm gonna be there when Itell them I'm gonna be there to support I'm there to support You know you don't have tocall me on stage You don't have to like say and you don't even have to recognize meYou know you don't II I don't need I don't need you for you to standup and say no we we got Frank in the artist you know blah blah blah No that's your showThat's your thing If you decide that you want to do that don't get me wrong I'm ready toperform and I'm ready to like give them because you believe in me and and andbecause you believe in me I'm I'm gonna do that you know and that's that'syou know and that's why it was so such a pleas pleasure in talking to youyou know Um this I didn't see this coming liberal I didn't see this coming at all butas we talk and then we speak right now I'm I'm I'm giving all the blessingsand thanks to God that you that you are taking your time out to to dothis with me this evening Absolutely no problem No thanks needed man Thank you I appreciate it manAnd and it doesn't stop stop there because not only uh you know we talked about the Motown thing youknow we got that squared away but there is something that you got going on right now That's prettyhot too A single that's called See about me Yeah Yeah I mean we we talka little bit about that new single that came I was um I was umjust driving I had gone down to LA I was going down the district to uh get me aa new suit for a show And uh uh the the suit I was getting was fora song called uh healing Uh talking about how to if I fall Uh If I falter toask my woman to forgive me you know just here Uh because none of us are perfectUh Just do that But in the process as I was driving down there uh inthe district um I saw all of these homeless I've seen people on side rowbefore I've seen um but going trying to associate that even to like when I came out of Kentuckyout of Lexington it was nothing like this I I and and to to to realize that youhave um a place to sleep Uh you have um that you had employment that youhad the things that we take for granted And I'm not saying that uh because there's alot of people on the street that I don't think a lot of people really can understandwhat happened So we don't know their background A lot of my doctors a lot of them are justeveryday working people A lot of them a lot of them got hurt in accidents And I I worked umI worked with uh an insane salon uh uh hospital and a lot of thepeople in there got got hurt in a in an automobile accident took the brain Uh so those individualsthat are out there there is probably a lot of things that that are socially wrongor mentally wrong that we just don't have any clue So we look at them and welook down and my thing was no and the more I look at it I realized that couldbe me That's where I see about me came from And as a matter of factdon't own that Um only see about me the uh the the good time riff onthere Uh uh John Paris uh who's the drummer for Earth Wind and Fire uhplayed the guitar Yeah And uh Roman Johnson uh who is uh with Stevie Wonder uh playeda lot of the other stuff And so again as these musicians that people don't know you know who you'rearound Uh I'm just I'm just thankful bro So it's out the video is supposed to be coming outthis um either April or May uh and uh the editing is done or the video isactually being completed by um MWMN Radio out of a Minneapolis Minnesota Prince area over with uh hername her name is Miss Ginger Patterson And uh she is she is it I meanshe knows the business She knows Capitol records she knows a lot of places And so it waslike um so I try to get a lot of other people who have records I tell them you knowI'll introduce you to her because I don't I don't it doesn't it doesn't hurt anythingYou're just trying to make it you know You know And uh so I'm just manI don't know I'm gonna keep on saying that you just tonight I just feel like you're blessing me broAnd and I'm I'm thankful I'm I'm hoping I don't put you to sleep you know No you'renot put me to sleep man I love it man This is you know this is all the stuffthat you know artists and creators you know we need to hear this and talkabout it you know just stuff that you know needs to be discussed So I loveI love when we can have these discussions you know artist to artist writer towriter and so forth you know it's it's it's it's something that's needed you know a monster So nowabout that that come see about me you know with it with it you know with thevideo and the work is there gonna be an album you know that kind of coincide with this coming upsoon Anytime too as well Uh Ginger says she's looking at putting all of thesongs that I have Um I probably got like 20 or 30 songs that uh but you know normallywhat it comes with about 12 songs on on a on a on a CD or something like thatYeah somewhere around here And uh I just totally just pick the best ones because uh I'malso I do a lot of blues and uh so I I do a lot of Zz Hill I doI write I write blues Uh I do um I do blues shows and uh I do a lot ofuh Bobby Rush uh cause I love me some Bobby Rush Uh And uh it's kinda like uh so anymusician that I can get a feel for what they're going what they're saying and how they aredepicting things Yeah Is what I I try to pick with I want the best not onlylyrics but I want the best feel uh uh uh to associate with what you're doingyou know because they uh like Bobby Rush our language is different because when you'refrom the south the further you go south different words mean different things And uh so it's you know Ifeel that yeah so it's kind of like you know hog balls you know ch ch you got likebecause you have you don't live in that particular area so you don't know whatthey're talking about until you actually like go down and like eat at one of the placesor see something They got this skier man talking to try you try to get into theshow try to steal my glory But anyway it uh that that's what it's all about I'm hoping that uhwe can get it done And uh so I got a few people that aretrying to I'm trying to book myself and then I have a few other people trying to douh do some booking for me but it's it's um uh everybody's trying to get themselves something And sohopefully that the people that I've been dealing with even with the the Motown uhorganization when I was dealing with some of the agents that I was dealing withwith them uh Hopefully they will find me something and if they don't you know and then I justkeep on moving you know I just keep on uh uh going until I get somebody that uh letme put that out that good for all those that listen for for the ones who want to like umget me jobs or can get me jobs I'm not a standard guy I know that average percentis like 10% they say but I'm looking at giving you 15 to 20% Andthe reason for that is that I already have things going So zero from zero leaves zero If you ifif I get a job and I'm making five or six grand I'm giving my musicians good money Youget money because you got me the job I don't see a reason why you don't get thatUh uh I know everybody says that's a standard Ok Well that's a standard but you can gobeyond that too and I I'm not looking to do the show for free but I'm saying I'mtrying to tell them I'm not trying to beat you I'm just telling you that this isme Just just just deal with me and understand that Hey uh and if there's a lot of themsay well I'll jump on that but yeah jump on it because it's real I'm notgonna fight you over it Uh it's it's uh you get your that tells methat hey you want that 15% You want that uh 16% Um I walk away my musicians get paidgood I get a little money I go home I get shows I continue toget shows and if we make uh big shows then you you just add thatup man Add up that add add that 15 to 16% up and you're working with everybody else fightingover 10 I'm telling you you get 15 you know or a little bit better And ifthat's not an incentive I don't know what you mean And they and they probably said there's somethingwrong with this brother you know or something you know he's willing to give up that Noman I'm just saying that I enjoy the music I enjoy what I do I I'm enjoying theblessings that I have and I'm enjoying everything You know as a matter of fact I'm working uh working ona uh doing a gospel show this year because I've done like four or five gospelshows probably like I don't know maybe 8910 of gospel shows And uh because I love my gospeland uh so it's kind of like that's working on that as well you know R and Buh rhythm and blues Good I love my rhythm and blues But uh you give me some gospel man andI'm you know it's just a it's just two different formats two different fields So that's andif I hope they don't think I'm all over the place but I'm just trying to expressto them the ones who are listen that this is this is the this is thegifts these these are this is a blessing I'm just trying to express to youwhat I what I what I am who I am and trying to be uh totally honest with you thepublic the the people that are out there and there's no other way for me to be becauseuh in the long run if you think you're gonna beat me you know you beat yourselfbecause you're throwing all that money away when you could be making it You know that's that's the way Ilook at it you know So um I don't know le bro you like I said I'm gonna keep ongiving you all these accolades man because you taking time out to talk to meman Yeah it's all good It's all good and and and and and one ofyour uh many talents too man Also as you mentioned a little bit earlier uh also an actor he justdid a uh film uh Kill a Stepfather So this is is this your first film That was myit was it's it's not my first acting job That was my first uh actually movie film Yes fora lifetime And uh yeah a lady came to my church I was thinking on Sunday andthey just happened to visit my church and uh they came up to me as amatter of fact her husband came up to me afterwards and say hey I need to talkto you At least my wife needs to talk to you And I said oh OK And he saidWell she's a talent agent you know And I said yeah ok Well you know Ihear that all the time so good And uh she said that she did she met withme and she says why don't you just send me some stuff and let me look at it and uhI sent her some clips and some pictures and some video And uh she called me up andsaid hey uh we need to seriously talk here She said you you got talents thatjust need to be like you know she said we just need to take it like mold youAnd so they sent me down Yeah they sent me down to this uh for aninterview and uh probably like I would say within two days of that uh uhJohn they they called me up and said hey we uh we want to seeyou again We need to talk to you and I went back down and the lead the lead actor theyoung lady that was there Uh Her name is Alice Camacho Uh She says uh yougot that natural ability You didn't come in you didn't argue you didn't act nasty you did youwasn't she said and you laugh the whole time but she said you had that serious sideand she said we want you to do this and I did it and uh because itwas so fast I I was struggling with the words but uh believe it or not She she cameupstairs and she sat down with me She said listen this word is saying this this word issaying that she says so you just got to like follow the lines and then she saidyou you see the the the the way it's going and man it was like boom And then theycame up the director and then came up and said hey are we ready to shoot She saidyes And I went down there and boom we shot it and she said I told you you wereso sweet so natural And she said so I'm looking forward to doing more movies withyou She said I'm I'm looking forward to that and she she had stayed in touch Uh She's beento it She came to a lot of the uh uh the Motown shows and everything like that alongwith the you know other people and yeah just supported it all the way youknow And I told her that I would support her or anybody else wherever theygo whatever they're doing I will support you know because I just think that's the way it shouldbe Yeah And uh I'm I'm I'm I'm hoping that once they see this betweenyou and i it just blows up Yeah Sure Sure So what did you uh let me askyou why why why were you in Puerto Rico Man You said why was Ithere Yeah but just just fun Just being a wife We just we do thiswe do it once a year We take a cruise and we go out and uh youknow we hit a couple of islands and just hang out So we did a seven day um well thiswas the first time we did a seven day cruise So we did a seven daycruise this time Uh we went to uh Puerto Rico Dominican Republic and Grand TurksOk And how do you like it What's that How did you like it Oh I loved itI love it Yeah I loved it I had a I had a great timeIt actually went by a lot faster than what I thought I thought I was gonnabe like a little homesick because I like being out But then I I I'm kind ofso I kind of felt like being like the fifth day or fourth day outthere I thought I was gonna be homesick but it went by so fast and it wasjust like I never even they keep you they really keep you busy you know Yeah they did I Ispent seven days in the dr with my wife and uh just loved it I it was sofast that it was like man what did the time go But when you're doing other stuff like that Itdon't go that fast bro It don't go that fast you know and it's so pretty you know thewaters and the beaches and you know the fruits Yeah Drinking the drinks in the air you know it justit's just different you know the vibe is just different altogether So yeah we had we had a lotof fun So yeah that's what we were just out there Just hanging out take take to VK you knowYeah Yeah Yeah I uh I've been blessed I had uh two records at number one Yes to Your Willis a gospel song It was number one It ran uh number one for about three weeks you knowI don't know how you know how long to really run but I was justblessed that it got to number one you know And uh see about me wasnumber two and still at n sitting at number three I think it is rightabout now I gotta love that Yeah And uh I have uh uh loving you uh whichis uh like uh kind of like an upbeat thing but it loving you is isum just telling the women that they are the pillars of this universe and they are and uh theyall just need to know that because they uh they're just they are just the pillows because there'snobody else in this universe Nobody that's made like a woman No Back and umI just wrote to tell him that you know what uh despite all of the hardships despite everythingelse you've always found a way you found a way to raise us you found away to feed us You found a way to work When they when when thingswhen you was by yourself you found a way you always found and that that they they justneed to know that that I you know you can have attitudes you can have all of theother changes Yes Uh we all do But but um that's just the way I write islike making them understand you know what uh you you you are just something special and and I'm going toremain with that and doesn't mean that all of us gonna get along But but totake that away from you that's not gonna happen you know that's not gonna happen That'swhat that's what's missing in a lot of music Uh right now especially that what you're saying right thereThat that's that's Missy soul R and B well you know in in a ina lot of genres it's missy it's it's missing because they they I don't know what happened to themWhy the disrespect uh it's kind of like um but I'm gonna remain with writing as suchand uh and then when I do my shows I know that the ones who come will appreciatewhat I'm saying you know and uh Look bro when I do uh if you don't know meby now I worked that song I work I work even though I do mind it the the old theold school songs you know let's stay together you know love and happiness It's like because all ofthe stuff relates to life to light and uh uh but they this new stuff man I I I'mnot downing them I'm just telling them that you know i it's just not for me you know it's justnot I I want the ladies to come to my concert and be appreciative and then be respected and thenlike talk to him for something that they know to be true because we all have ourdifficulties We really do and nobody needs to be calling you no B's and D's and es they don'tneed to be doing that But uh that's where we are that's where this new gen uhnew attitude or whatever they want to call it you know And uh no nonot not me I pro I probably won't get nobody to pick me up after thatI know a lot of people feel the same way as you are not alonelike you know the the authenticity and and so uh just missing so you knowartists you know like yourself you know we keep striving to to to bring some ofthat authenticity back into you know R and B and soul funk music you know all the music that raisedus you know even country music you know I I see Beyonce you know she's tapping into the country thingyou know and people kind of giving her a little bit of slack you knowslack for that But you know to go back to the forties and fifties you'llsee a lot of black folks playing country You know we can talk about Dobie Gray or Charlie pride Imean we can talk we can go that's a whole another subject But I'm just saying this ain'tnew to us That that's the whole thing And uh it's it's kind of like uh andI and I think um I'm very appreciative when you when we talk about stuff like that thinkingabout how they survive the fields every day Um that must have been something tobe able to even come up with the the harmony and the singing and and and and yeah you knowwhat I'm saying And it was like all day long doing that and and and and and lookbro this kid here I ain't quite so sure No I know I know for sureI wouldn't have made it I would have been I feel you would like been long gone You knowI ain't taking that too much longer Yeah And uh so I'm that's why I'm appreciative of whatthey went through because I don't know what they went through Yeah You know I don'tI don't uh I don't understand these individuals that don't respect their minds because you don't know what theywent through You don't have a clue I don't know what my mom went through I don't know whatmy father went through I know that they were there for a while They died youngUh so I don't have a clue what took their lives you know what what what conspired what happenedYou know so all of these individuals that they get angry with their parents andthey go out in these places and they want to just act ugly uh outin the public And I tell myself you don't know what they have uh probably gone through You don'tknow the the night you don't even know how much work they were probably doing toget you to where you are You don't know how much time they put into get you a college education You don't know you don't know none of those things and and andfor you to be disrespectful of that And no no not me Iii I um I'mvery very sensitive to my mother even though she's gone Uh when I talk about that that's very sensitive tome because uh of what she had to do to get us through And I canboldly and proudly say on this sitcom wherever it is I didn't go to prison You know I didn't Ididn't do dope I don't I don't I don't drink I don't you know it's not like mebeing perfect but it's understanding what she said and and where your money gonna go where are you putting yourmoney You know you you drink it up you know or you smoke it up oror you dope it up And she said if you just look at the individuals that you while you areplaying professionally you see that where your money is going or where their money is going And shealways told me that when you put a drink down you don't pick it up She saidyou don't drink but your orange juice becomes subjected to the same things as somebody else who isdrinking So I never ever picked up a drink or orange drink once I put it downand I went to the stage and I played I come back I ordered me up a neworange juice I'm I'm I'm I'm I can tell the world that listen world don't pickit up Yeah And so uh so I I know that I believe that goodthings are gonna happen bro I believe that good things are gonna come my way I'mjust gonna keep on pushing Yeah we're looking forward to it man We're looking
