My latest podcast, Classic Rock 60s-70s, aired on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, and it was a total blast!
We took a trip through some of the best tracks from the '60s and '70s, covering everything from rock, pop, and blues rock to psychedelic rock, sunshine pop, power pop, and, of course, classic rock. 🎸
We heard timeless music from legendary bands and artists like:
- The Yardbirds
- Cream
- The Who
- Traffic
- Badfinger
- Paul Revere and the Raiders
- The Monkees
- The Grass Roots
- Grand Funk Railroad
- And many more!
But the real treat was having Godfrey Townsend on the show. Godfrey’s an absolute legend in the rock world, and he shared incredible stories about his time performing with some of the greatest in the business.
He’s worked with names like Jack Bruce of Cream, Alan Parsons, John Entwistle of The Who, Dave Mason of Traffic, Joey Molland, and many others. He also talked about his time with The Yardbirds, his role as music director for the Happy Together Tour, and his epic tribute performances for Eric Clapton.
This episode is packed with rock nostalgia, powerful guitar performances, and some deep dives into music history. 🎧
In this episode of The History of Rock and Roll, recorded on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, I took you on a time-traveling jukebox journey back to the heart of rock ’n’ roll’s golden age!
We turned up the volume on unforgettable moments from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, when doo-wop ruled the corner, jukeboxes lit up the night, and legends were born on vinyl and AM radio.
I was thrilled to be joined by three phenomenal guests: Michael Russo, the soulful voice of The Reflections; Elijah Wald, author of Dylan Goes Electric; and John Wood, the producer behind the powerful documentary on Nicky Hopkins, The Session Man.
These are voices that don’t just talk about music; they’ve lived it, chronicled it, and helped keep its spirit alive for future generations.
Don’t miss this one! Whether you’re a doo-wop diehard, a Dylan devotee, or a classic piano rock aficionado, there’s something in this show for every rock and roll heart. 🎧
Tune in and catch the rhythm of rock history!
