Hello Hello I'm Jo from Sisters Speaking English and I wanted to make this quick

video for you today to explain what will happen in our fluency classes, so that you know what to expect

when you join one of our zoom classes As you know we have one free class every week in our

Facebook group and we also have more classes, regular classes at regular times, in our paid

membership program So this is what you should expect when you join a Sisters Speaking

English zoom class. So when you join, you will need to -there's a waiting room -so when you try to

join it will say "wait for the host to let you in". So your host, which is

usually me, sometimes we have another teacher to take the classes, but usually it's me, I

will let you in - but you will need to just wait for a couple of

minutes for me to do that. So when you come into the room, please make sure that you have

your name is on your zoom name We'd like to have your name and your country as well please

so we know where you're from. Then when you come in we would like you please to introduce

yourself. So be brave Be very brave unmute your microphone and say hello. You just need to introduce

yourself -tell us your name and tell us where you're from because it makes us feel comfortable that

we're all women in the room and we know who's there. So please do that,

even if you feel a little nervous. Um- then what will happen? So there are three main

parts to our class. So part number one is you will go and meet your speaking partner

for the day. Each class you will speak to a speaking partner and we will talk about the topic.

So the first time that you go to meet your partner, I will send you to

what we call 'breakout rooms'. You will see a notification that says "your host has invited you to join

breakout room-" and there will be a number. So just click "join breakout room" and there you will

go and meet your partner for the day. The first time you meet your partner

you are just going to get to know each other. So you can ask all of those

lovely familiar questions -you know- "Where are you from?" "What should I call you?" So please

make sure you tell your partner what you would like to be called. I know

lots of us have different names. Some are formal names. some are nicknames So tell your partner what is

comfortable for you. Um so name, where you're from and tell your partner why you want to improve

your english speaking. Um What else you might like to tell your partner um whether you're married whether

you have any children Maybe what you're hoping to do What what do you do?

Do you work? Are you studying? All of those general topics. So that's the first part

of the zoom fluency classes. Number one introduce yourself to your speaking partner for the day. After about 10 minutes

or 15 minutes depending on the time that you joined, I will bring everybody back

to the main room with me again, and at that time we will talk about our

topic. So we'll talk about the questions. I'll give you some questions that you're going to answer or that

you can ask each other about the topic of the day. We'll also talk about some vocabulary and brainstorm some

useful vocabulary for the topic. We might talk about some grammar, helpful grammar tips for the

topic -remind you of what which tenses will be appropriate to use for the topic of

the day. You can also check your pronunciation at that time. Um English is really difficult with

the pronunciation and the spelling So if there are any words that you've really only

seen written down and you'd like to know how to pronounce them you can check at that

time too. So that's the second part. So part number one introduce yourself to your partner for the day

Part # two is the main central part of the class with me to talk about the topic. Talk about

vocabulary, discuss the questions and I will give you some model answers of me answering the question too, so

you can see how a native speaker might answer those questions for the day. Then after that we

move into the last part of this um speaking class and you will go back to meet with

your partner and the last section of the class is to practice speaking on the

topic with your partner. So the same partner that you met in part one and you 'll go back and talk

to your partner about today's topic. So you can um talk to your partner for as long as you

like really about the topic. It is absolutely 100% fine if you go off topic,

if you and your partner get talking about something different and you want to have

a conversation about that, that is 100% okay with me. This is a fluency class- it is

a class where you can get comfortable and get confident speaking in a very natural way and conversations naturally go

off in a particular direction so that's absolutely fine. If you are preparing for IELTS, however, it's a

good idea to try to stay on topic and try to answer those questions so that you can get used

to answering the questions that you are asked and stick with the topic It's it's quite a helpful skill

to have. So anyway I hope that gives you some idea of what to expect. Our classes really are

quite lovely Um you get to meet people from all around the world. You get to

meet people from different countries with different accents. It's very very good for your listening skills um

even if you find it a little challenging at first you will find that it is

really very very good for both you're listening and you're speaking fluency. So I'm excited to have you join

us. Be brave -come on in and join us. Don't worry if you feel a little nervous everybody does

at first and it gets easier as we go. So I look forward to seeing

you soon. I'm excited to have you here and we'll catch you in a zoom class

    soon. Bye ladies!
